Export Salesforce into a Company Brain — the deal timeline

The CRM export is customer intelligence in CSV form: every account, every contact joined to it, every opportunity with its dates. The brain writes one note per deal and links each to the people on both sides.

What a Salesforce export holds — and what the brain makes of it

Setup → Data Export Service produces a zip of CSVs (the download link expires in 48 hours). The brain builder reads accounts (geocoded, so they sit on the map), contacts and leads joined to their accounts, opportunities as the deal timeline — one note per deal — campaigns with their members, tasks and cases as per-contact interaction signal, and users as your own team. Task and case subjects are never read.

This is the export a sales pipeline in the brain grounds on: lost deals worth reopening, dormant decision-makers who once said yes, and the intro paths between your team and theirs. Beside a LinkedIn Company export the account’s contacts resolve onto real people in your network, matched by name.

How to export your Salesforce data

The exact clicks, as they are today. Platforms move menus; the engine’s source docs are updated when they do.

  1. 01

Setup → Data Export Service → Export Now (or schedule)

  2. 02

Download from the email — the link expires in 48 h → CSV ZIP(s)

  3. 03

Drop the archive on Salesforce in Studio’s Sources — or tell Claude Code or Codex “build my brain from this”. The source is detected by itself, even inside a combined archive.

Then, next month

An export is a snapshot. Drop a newer one and press Update: your edits and _notes/ are kept, and the update report says what changed.

How Update works

Then ask it

What you can ask a brain built from Salesforce

Examples, not promises: the answer is whatever your notes hold, and every answer cites the notes it came from. The more exports you add, the more these questions cross sources.

  • Which deals did we lose in the last year to a stated reason we have since fixed?
  • Which accounts went quiet after their champion left, and who else do we know there?
  • Who on our team has the most history with this account?

limitA snapshot of the CRM at export time; it does not sync, and a deal moved after the export is updated only when you drop in the next one.

Good to know

The honest answers.

Does it read notes on tasks and cases? No. Task and case subjects are never read; they contribute a per-contact interaction signal only.

Do we need the Enterprise edition? The Data Export Service is available on editions that include it; check your Setup menu. The brain reads the resulting CSV zip wherever it came from.
